Swannery

Parking

Disabled badge holders may take their vehicles to a designated disabled parking area inside the Swannery.

Buying Tickets / Entering the Swannery

Those who are able to provide documentary identification of disability (i.e. blue / orange badge or similar) will be able to take a carer in free of charge.

On arrival follow the disabled parking signs and pull into the holding lay by near the shop / admission point. Staff will then open the entrance gate and direct you to the designated disabled car park inside the Swannery avoiding a long walk. All other visitors must use the entrance car parks.

Assistance Dogs / Pets

Unfortunately dogs/pets are not allowed into the Swannery as the Swans would become excited and aggressive.

Toilets

Are located for visitors with disabilities at the main entrance.

Carers

One companion is admitted free of charge per wheelchair user or visually impaired visitor.

Assistance Dogs

Unfortunately due to the large number of roaming farm animals these are not permitted.

Access to the Children’s Farm

This is very restrictive due to the ancient nature of the site. Some areas of rough ground and loose stone make navigation by wheelchair difficult. It is estimated that the site is 50% accessible to wheelchairs.
