 What’s on

Come and join the fun at one of our Enchanted Illuminations Halloween Family Fright Nights.  The 4 special Halloween nights take place Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th, Friday 26th and Sat 27th October from 4.30pm to 9.00pm.  You can also use your ticket to enjoy the Garden during the day before the Halloween fun starts.  The evening entertainment includes:

The family fright nights at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens offer young families the perfect way to join in the Halloween spirit( fancy dress encouraged ) in a fun and not too frightening way. The 30 acre garden is magically lit throughout to provide the perfect spooky background for this unique event. Theatrical up lighting combined with candle lit pathways, create the shadowy nooks and corners, for costumed characters to suddenly spring from.

Spooky Fun activities are spaced around the garden paths ( plan on the website ) and include , Free spooky face painting, Live Spider and Snakes shows in the main Pavilion ( hold a tarantula if you dare ) ,Fire Eaters,  A witches coven where sweets are given out, A scary scars station where you can have a free Horrible make over,  a giant spider, Trampolines, Twitch the witch and her slimy dips, and don’t miss the Tunnel of Terror !

In addition the restaurant is open for suppers and hot drinks, as well as a BBQ, the shop offers early Christmas shopping , and it will be SNOWING AT THE ENTRANCE every night.

The gardens are open from 10am the lights go on at dusk , the activities start at 4,30pm the gardens close at 9.00pm.

The ticket price includes entry to the nearby Swannery and Children’s Farm. It is recommended that families visit the Swannery and Farm ( open from 10 am ) before going over to the Gardens for the evening fun.

Meet the Spider

The Children are invited to come along in spooky fancy dress.  Make sure they don’t miss the witches near the brazier – they are nice witches that give out sweets!

The fun doesn’t stop there as your ticket also gives you a free visit to Abbotsbury Swannery and Abbotsbury Children’s Farm.  The Farm will be putting on their own Spooky Halloween Fun daily throughout the October half term.  The Children will love exploring the Willow Maze at the Swannery and having a race around the Go Kart Track.  Don’t miss the mass feeding of the swans at 12noon and 4pm each day.  The Swannery and Farm are open 10am to 5pm (last admisson 4pm) until Sunday 28th October.  If you don’t make it there this season come and enjoy your visit when the attractions re-open in 2018.
